The Conservatory Ballet will not be holding classes on - Monday, Nov. 3rd or Tuesday, Nov. 4th - as we follow the Fairfax County Public School Schedule and they are closed for Teacher Work day (Elections).

The Nutcracker Conservatory Ballet of Reston Announces
37th Annual Nutcracker Season

Students Perform Preview at Reston Town Center Holiday Festival

The Conservatory Ballet of Reston – one of the oldest and most reputable dance academies in the Washington area offering early-childhood, pre-professional and adult programs in ballet, flamenco, hip hop, Irish, jazz and tap - announces its 37th annual Nutcracker performance schedule.

Approximately 125 students from the Conservatory, ages 5 to 17, will offer eight performances at the Reston Community Center from Dec. 10-14, and two special Gala Performances at the Madeira School Theater in McLean, Va., on Dec. 20.

WHAT: Reston Conservatory Ballet proudly presents its 37th annual Nutcracker season, with an all children’s cast. Tickets go on sale the afternoon of Nov. 28. Tickets for the Reston Community Center performances can be purchased by calling 703-476-4500. Tickets go on sale the afternoon of October 31 for the Madeira School Theatre performances can be purchased by clicking here.

WHO: Approximately 125 Conservatory Ballet students ages 5 to 17 will perform a full-length Nutcracker with music by the famous Russian composer, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The performance will present four graduating curriculum ballet students: Megan Kampa (performing as Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen), Kristi Liu (performing as Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen) , Lexie Overholt(performing as Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen) and Kelsey Weber (performing as Snow Princess and Persephone).

Approximately 40 students ages 8 to 17 and adults from Conservatory Ballet will perform a Nutcracker preview at Reston Town Center’s Holiday Parade on Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. (beginning on Market Street and Freedom Drive). The Conservatory’s participation is part of the festivities at Reston Town Center, which are free of charge.

“For the past 37 years, Conservatory Ballet students have performed throughout the community, demonstrating excellence, and, above all, earnestness, which has helped them succeed in both dance, and in life,” said Julia Redick, Director of Conservatory Ballet.

Welcome Back, Miss Leslie!!

Conservatory Ballet wishes to extend a warm welcome-back to Miss Leslie Guilfoyle. Miss Leslie is returning with Sophie (now 3 years old) and her new little one Lucy! Miss Leslie will be teaching Baby Ballet (10:15-11:00) and Princess Ballet(11:00-11:45) on Mondays and Fridays. To register, come in and sample the class!
